SALARIES RAISED
WAIKATO HOSPITAL STAFF
(0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. After a lengthy discussion by the Waikato Hospital Board yesterday the salaries of doctors, nurses, house manager, accountant, and other employees of the board were raised. The increases' involve an additional expenditure of £5272 a year. Before the board went into committee, the chairman, Mr. F. Findlay, said he was opposed to increases being granted to the higher-salaried officers while the war was on. Other members thought the matter should be referred to the incoming board. However, the majority agreed that all the fina #.e committee's recommendations should be adopted.
