SERGEANT L. <\ CLEWS
The death is officially announced in to-day-s casualty list of Sergeant Lionel Charles Clews, son of Mr T G. Clews, of Papatoetoe. Sergeant Clews went to India from England as a captain in the 17th Indian Cavalry regiment. About 16 vears ago he came to New Zealand. Some time ago he took a leading part in the making of the film "Carbine"? Heritage." which screened successfully in the Dominion. An expert rider, in recent years he had undertaken the training of the re-formed Auckland Polo Club and was well known in polo circles..
