MATCHES ON SATURDAY ONE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AFTER THE BIG PARADE. A decision to play one League championehip match and three otlier games, which will not count in the championship, on Saturday next, wae made by the Auckland Kug>by League last evening. It was announced that the military authorities had been consulted concerning the hitparade, and this, it wae understood, would be over by 3 o'clock. The cluibe had been consulted, said tlie chairman, Mr. Grey Campbell, as neither Kichmond nor Mariet would be affected by the parade, and they would play in a championship matdh commsneing at 3.20 p.m. Aβ a curtain-raiser it was deefded, at the request of the two dubs, to play a challenge match 'between Newton and City. A further game between Ponsoubv and North Shore will be played on No. 2 ground, while Papakura and Manukau will meet at Papakura. The Otahuhu Club wrote protesting against the non-acceptance of its nomination as a senior team and made suggestions that a fairer method of selection be devised in future. On the motion of the chairman it was decided to forward the Otahuhu Club an explanation It was resolved ■ to inform all clubs that curtain-raisers at Carlaw Park must finish promptly at 3.10 p.m. Should the teams be late in starting the spells will be equally divided so that the games wUI finish at the prescribed time. Mr. L. Rout reported that excellent organisation had been made for the schoolboys' competition. 39 teams having been nominated. The Auckland City Council advised the following allocation of grounds for the season' Domain (2). Outer Domain (1).
