OTAHUHU E.P.S.O.
LARGE MEETING HELD To arrange for a uniform system of control in the blackout a meeting of about 180 members of the Otahuhu Emergency Precautions Scheme Organisation was held last evening. Members were congratulated on their enthusiasm by the district warden, Mr. C. R. Petrie. M.P., who was in the chair. Problems of the reduced lighting were fully discussed, and it was decided that all skylights and fanlights would have to~ be darkened and verandah and porch lights removed. The borough engineer, Mr. W. Hughes, who is at present in hospital, was complimented on the thoroughness of his work in organising the scheme, and a motion of sympathy with him in his illness was passed.
