The keel nf the iir-t. of a series of standard UOOU-ton merchant vessels will lie laid down in a shipyard in New Smith Wales within the next few weeks. The design will be a modification of the standard adopted in Britain and the I'nited States. The vessel probably will take nearly a year -to complete. "
