STATEMENT LATE TO-DAY. ALTERNATIVE PROPOSALS? (0.C.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Government's reply to the National party proposal for tlie formation of a National Government is to be first communicated to the Labour party conference. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, attended the gathering this morning, but, it is understood, made no reference to the subject. Delegates anticipate that the Government's alternative to the proposals of the Opposition will be submitted to them late this afternoon.
