TWO SAFE.

MISSING TRAMPERS.

SEARCH FOR COMPANIONS

(P.A.) . WKLLIXfiTOX. thi> dav

Two of the party of four youths who set out across the Orongorongos at the beginning of the Faster holiday, and of whom nothing further was heard, were brought into town yesterday by a sergeant and two soldiers who were out deer stalking.

The weather iit tlie hill-; has been atrocious, and the parents of the party have been very anxious about, the lads, none of whom had had much experience as trampers. The lads brought in are Bruce and Lawrence Xcilson. They staggered in an exhausted condition into the hut occupied bv the deer stalkers at 10 o'clock yesterday morning. Their clothing was sopping, and they had not had hot or solid food since Monday, existing solely on condensed milk and water. As soon .as they were made comfortable two soldiers went through to Wainui-n-mata to announce the boys' .arrival and the position regarding the others. The secretary of the Tararua Tramping Club, after an interview with the Xeilsons. said it was apparent that the other two members of the party, on parting, had followed the Turere River and if they were not back by midday to-day search parties from all tramping clubs about Wellington would be sent out. The missing lads are Warren Hobbs, aged about 18, and Maurice Forester, both civil servants. Xothing has been heard of the youths and tramping clubs have organised a search expedition which leaves Wellington at 4 p.m. and will commence a search in the region where*the trampers were last known to be. It is estimated that about "21 will be in the party.
