Mr. A. S. Richards. MP.. travelled to "Wellington last night to attend the Labour conference.
Commandpr W. G. Davis, D.S.C'.. R.X., lias arrived from Britain to join the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. Commander Davis, who has been serving in destroyers, mainly off the coast of Norway, has brought with him Mrs. Davis and three daughters. The Hon. B. Martin, M.L.C., will be a ! passenger to Wellington on the Limited express to-night. Governor-General Richard Bninot. special envoy of General de Gaulle to French possessions in the Pacific, accompanied by Madame Bruuot and bis aide-de-camp, Captain L. Fatoux, Croix de Guerre, will be passengers to Wellington by the, Limited express to-night. j Mr. R. M. Barker, secretary of the New i Zealand Master Grocers' Federation, has returned a three weeks' visit to Australia. Mr. Robert Wilson, for the past two years secretary of the industries committee of the Department of Industries and Commerce in Wellington, has been ap- 1 pointed assistant-secretary to the New j Zealand Manufacturers' Federation. '
