NEW SPIRIT.

TRUST IN GOD

HELPING WAR EFFORT

Mr. Tvan Menzies. w.II known Oxford Group leader, has received a London cable which says: "Mayors of leading South Wales cities say that all communities desperately hit by industrial crisis in the post-war years, and singled out for savage bombardment from the air. are finding inspiration and inner strength in the call to 'Moral Rearmament.' With civic authorities. Oxford Group workers conducted campaigns to strengthen morale, which has played an important part in enabling our citizens to withstand air raids.

"In one coastal town efficiency in fire fighting was directly traced to this new spirit. A strike between dock workers was averted recently by a change brought about by the Oxford Group in the life of a subversive agent. We are convinced that industry in South Wales, marked by su.-h misunderstanding in the past, depends upon such work for future harmony and co-operation.

"Four Sheffield trade union leaders write stating their firm conviction that the Oxford Group "is rendering essential national service.' Their work results in improved relations betycen management and men. leading to higher standards of work and increased inefficiency. It. has been definitely effective in strengthening the morale of the people and proving a constructive force against, divisive and defeatist elements which are the greatest. menace to the successful prosecution of the war."
