DEFENCE AND TRADE.
REGULAR DISCUSSIONS. AUSTRALIAN STATEMENT. (Reed. 11 a.m.! CANBF.RRA, this day. A consultative, committee representing the Governments of Australia and New Zealand is to be formed to handle defence ami trade matters. The Australian Minister of Supply. Mr. Mcßride. and the New Zealand Minister of Supply. Mr. D. <j. Sullivan, will be permanent members .of the committee. They will co-opt the services o'f other Ministers in accordance, with the subjects for discussion. The formation of the committee ie the outcome of Mr. .Anthony's recent visit to the.Dominion. . It will mean that in future there will be .'regular, and ordered discussions between members of Cabinet of both countries. It is intended that meetings shall be held at regular intervale; necessitating, the exchange of .visits preferably by means of the Tasman air service.
