OVER 3000 ENLISTMENTS. Some idea of the effect of the war qn the staffing arrangements of the Post Office may be gained from figures furnished'by the Postmaster-General, the | Hun. P. C. Webb, who is at present in ! Auckland. The number of men already released or about to be released either I for overseas service or for territorial I service, he said, exceeds .'SOOO, or approxiI niatcly 25 per cent of the Department's I total staff. The number already overseas and either in camp or selected' for i overseas service is more than 2000. j The Minister added that in any review of the number of Post Office men on war service it had to be remembered that 45 per cent of the officers were married men and that, in addition, the i staff included a large number of youths I under military age as well as approximately 1400 women. i
