WATERSIDE LABOUR.
SPECIAL URGENT CASE
Auckland waterside workers throughout last night worked >hifts in a ease of special urgency for tiie fir.-t time for some years. A conference lasting all yesterday afternoon was held between Mr. R. E. Price, chairman of the Waterfront Control Commission. Air. J. Rol>erts, « member of the commission, and Captain C. V. Ntanich. Auckland Waterfront Controller, and, as the result of a mutual arrangement the decision to work shifts wais made.
Conferences are continuing to-day between all interests involved in the decision and the secretary of the Auckland Waterside Workers' I'nion. Mr. A. Girven, stated that the decision to work shifts was the result of an arrangement, between the union, the commission and the shipowners.
