(0.C.) THAMES, this (lav. I The first sitting of the Armed Forces Appeal Board opened here yesterday. Several eases of conscientious objectors were heard, and some ap[>ellants offered to do non-eombatant service. Two stated i they would not bear arms. When questioned on the non-eom'bat- ! ant side, they stated that to them it was the same thing as bearing arms. These cases were adjourned, decisions to Ibe given later. Other cases concerned .farmers, and one that of an experienced ' assis-tant manager of a fish factory.
