COLLISION AT CROSSING.

FARMER AND SON HURT. (0.C.) . TE AROHA, Tuesday. Serious injuries were suffered by Mr. William Readhead. aged 5 0, a farmer, of East-port Road. Waihou, and his son, Barry, aged 13, when the car Mr. Readhead was driving was involved in a collision with the 6 p.m. Franklin-Te Aroha train on the Herricsville crossing at Te Aroha this evening. The impact was a severe one and the car was extensively damaged, being carried about (50 yards before coming to a rest at the cattlestop. Mr. Readhead and his son, who were the only occupants of the ear, were taken to the Waikato Hospital. Their condition is very serious. There was a collision of a minor nature on the same crossing yesterday morning, when a car driven by Mr. R. Pond, of MataTnuta, collided with a shunting train. Mr. Pond escaped injury," but was severely shaken, and the ear was damaged.
