CHRISTMAS FARE.

GIFT OF POULTRY. SENT BY MR. CHURCHILL. (By air.) SYDNEY, Dec. 20. Two British migrants, Mrs. A. Austin and her daughter Maureen, of Xaromburn, a Sydney suburb, enjoyed a pair of fowls for Christmas which had been sent with the compliments of the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Mr. Winston Churchill. In answer to an invitation by the poultry-farm settlers of Hammondville to nominate a friend in Australia to whom he would like to give a pair of Christmas fowls, Mr. Churchill, through the Secretary of State for the Dominions, got in 'touch with Mies Bculah Bolton, secretary of the Victoria League in Sydney, which represents in New South "Wales the Society for Overseas Settlement of British Women. The choice fell on Mrs. Austin. Archdeacon Hammond, the founder of Hannnondville, said that lie would supplement the gift, and after the announcement was made, many presents were s*mt to him to pass on to Mrs. Austin, to make Christmas the brightest one she has had in Australia.
