COLLAPSE IN STREET.
Collapsing: in the street after strenuous efforts to extinguish a gorse nre near his home on Saturday afternoon, a married man, Mr. Charles Owen Lowther Broad, aged 33, bank clerk, of 74, Koraha Street, Remuera, died shortly afterwards. Mr. Broad played a hose on the fire until the arrival of the Remuera fire brigade. An inquest was opened yesterday before the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, "and was adjourned sine die.
