Eugeneore Matsukoka, writing in the magazine "University of Oregon," from which" ho graduated' in 1900, asserted that Japan stands wrongfully condemned before the bar of international opinion. He. admitted that all, Japanese were not motivated by idealism. "In our midst we find : that many , minds cannot conceive anntfd contest except in terms of [conquest,", he - stated, but he insisted that - Buch school-of thought would not prevail.
