PONSONBY BRANCH. There was a ;»uo<l attendance of members of the Polisonby branch of the Women's Auxiliary K.P.S. hold at Leys Institute. M rs. li. T. .\K'l<o(kl pre»iJwl. Mr. Hutchinson gave an address on "Emergency Schemes Past and Present, and it was agreed that further talks should be given each month. Forty-six assistant women wardens have so far been appointed to the district, and a ache me is in liand to increase this number considerably at an early date. Clashes in first aid and home nursing ■have been held; also a rcfrcSher class for assistant warden*. Previous to the meeting, members of the committee inspected the emergency cupboard, the keys then bein;r handed over by Sister York to two nurses resident in Ponsonby. A meeting was later called at Richmond Road School, and a «<ub-conimittec was set up wit-h power to canvass the district to obtain further helpers.
