Lyons, when Gupporting a recommendation by the bylaws committee that the council should suggest the postponement of the next municipal conference, due to be held in Auckland in March.
Mr. Lyons thought it would be of much greater benefit to the six citic* to form ther own organisation. They were outvoted on the Municipal Association and many reasonable and practical suggestions which had l>een put forward had had no chance of getting through. Mr. J. S. Harnett opjiosed postponement on the ground that the local body elections were to be proceeded with. The committee's recommendation was adopted.—(Press Assn.)
