REDUCTION MADE.
QUEEN STREET PROPERTY.
GOVERNMENT VALUATIONS.
Reduction of Government valuations of city property in the area in Queen Street, between the Town Hall and Karangahape Road, has been made by the Assessment Court, following a visit of inspection of the properties concerned by members of the court.
The valuation of two unoccupied sections, close to the Town Hall, was reduced from £70 to £55, and the value of properties between City Road and Turner Street, where there are eleven business premises, was reduced from £50 to £42 10/.
The objectors were represented at the sitting of the court by Mr. I. J. GoMstine and Dr. R. G. McElroy, and their contention was that the valuations were too high.
