MR. W. H. GEORGE.
The death occurred at a private hospital yesterday of Mr. William Hector George, aged 84. The last member of the Waiata Glee Club, he was actually in the choir during the Centennial Musical Festival six weeks ago. Back in the 'eighties, Mr. George was a Ponsonby Rugby forward. For many years he was in business as a cabinetmaker in Shortland Street. He was interested in sailing, and was an uncle of the Georges who Lad craft across the Tasman. The funeral will take place at Birkenihead to-morrow afternoon.
