ARMED FORCES.
APPOINTMENTS GAZETTED. Appointments in the armed forces, including the Territorial Force and the Royal !Xew Zealand Air Force, are contained in the current issue of the Gazette. Among these are the following:— Regular Air Force. Flight-Lieutenant A. C. McArthui, reserve of officers, and Flying-Officer H. C. Leese, reserve of officers, are appointed to the administrative and special duties branch. Territorial Force. Artillery.—Mr. I. S. McCartney to be second-lieutenant (temporary) and is posted to the Ist Battery, Ist Field Regiment. Infantry.—The Auckland Regiment (C.R.0.): Lieutenant C. H. Hirst, Ist Battalion, is transferred to the- reserve of officers; Mr. B. I. Fulton, late lieutenant, Hawke's Bay Regiment, to be lieutenant and is posted to the 3rd Cadet Battalion. The Hauraki Regiment: Lieutenant D. P. Melville is transferred from the 2nd Cadet Battalion to the Ist Battalion; Mr. G. de. C. Peele, late Imperial Arm}', to be lieutenant and is posted to the Ist Battalion; Messrs. R. J. McKay and G. W. Stephenson to be second-lieutenants (temporary) and are posted to the Ist Cadet Battalion. The North Auckland Regiment: Captain C. C. T. Harris, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be major (temporary); Captain R. Robe"--ton, reserve of officers, Southland Regiment, to be captain and is posted r.i the Ist Battalion; Lieutenant E. M. Clark, reserve of officers, Canterbury Regiment, to be lieutenant and is posted to the Ist Battalion; Second-Lieutenants N. Pountney and W. H. Thomson, 3rd Cadet Battalion, to be lieutenants. The. Waikato Regiment: Lieutenant G. M. Wat6on is transferred from the 2nd Cadet Battalion to the Ist Battalion; Second-Lieutenant F. C. Forstc-r is transferred from the. Ist Cadet Battalion to the Ist Battalion.
