NEW METROPOLE.
Two wedding parties contributed a happy atmosphere to the large gathering of dancers at the Metropole on Saturday evening, special arrangements being made for the entertainment of guests. Bowls of Iceland poppies and violets decorated the lounge, and lighting effects were attractively projected in the ballroom.
Lew Jones and his musicians were competent exponents' of old-time and modern dance measure, and a feature of the programme was the presentation of operatic airs, brilliantly arranged for orchestration by Mr. Jones. Miss Mollie Rhodes was heard to advantage in popular songs, assisted by the band. Prizes were awarded the Monte Carlo winners.
