FOOTBALLER'S FORTITUDE.
THREE PLAYERS INJURED.
Playing for Richmond in the principal Rugby League game at Carlaw Park on Saturday, Mr. Charles William Webb, married, aged 24, of 40, Holmes Street, Arch Hill, displayed considerable fortitude when he continued to play after suffering a broken jaw. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital after the match.
Two other players wore taken (o the Auckland Hospital suffering injuries received during football games. They were Mr. H. Savers, aged 27. of Queen's A.-enue, Mount Kdcn, who suffered concussion while playing for the Grafton second grade team at the Shmvgrounds, and Mr. J. S. Norton, of Sylvia Road, St. Hclier's, who received a fractured collarbone while playing for the Taniaki third grade Rugby teain at Eden Park. None of the men was seriously hurt.
