PETROL SAVING.
I feel like "Vauxhall" tluxt while w« car owners are doing our 'heat to conserve petrol others arc using it for unnecessary purposes. We, like Vauxliall» j ha<l to pay our lieensc on car on May 21. !but no rebate. It is not the rebate that I mind so much, -but "\vc are asked to he patriotic, and then you hear it put over the air almost daily that a new branch of The Happiness Club is to be opened at Dnrgaville and that threo bus loads of visitors are going from Auckland, one from Hamilton and either, one or two from Whangarei to Darga* ville just to witness the opening of a, new branch. Now this is. absolutely unnecessary. It is only joy riding. The director of the club is the only one that needs to be present. In time of peace I should say it was quite right and pood for trade, -but at a time when the Government is pleading with us to conserve petrol think of the gallons that will he consumed on this trip for joy riding when our country and practically our lives depend on petrol.
