MUSIC CONTESTS.
CHOIRS AND QUARTETS. The Auckland Centennial elimination contest for choirs and string quartel9 ■will be held to-morrow night in the Town Hali concert chamber. Four choirs w:ll take part. The combinations and their conductors are:—The Auckland Dorian Choir (Mr. H. C. Lufeombel, the Lyric Harmonists (Mr. Claude Laurie'i, th •> IZB Maori Choi'- (Mr. Walter Smithi. and the Beresford Street Congregational Chuich Choir (Mr. O. K. Wilren). In the s;:i:ig quartet section the only entry is that if the Apollo string o;:iitet. and the adjudicator «"ill determine whether it is of su,"icient merit to go to Wellington for the finals. Adjudicator in both sections will bs Mi. Andersen Tyrer. who is due in Auckland to-morrow morning.
