LATE SIR W. CARNCROSS.
UPPER HOUSE TRIBUTES. | ■ (By Telegraph.—Press Assoclatioc.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Legislative Council to-day, at its first meeting since the death of Sir Walter Carncross, carried a fitting resolution of appreciation of his services, which included 21 years as Speaker of the Council, and sympathy with his relatives. Tributes were paid by a representative number of members from Auckland to Southland, and the Council adjourned as a mark of respect.
