PATRIOTIC FUND.
OVERSEAS COMMISSIONER. RANK OF LIEUT. -COLONEL. (From Our Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. While carrying out the duties of overseas commissioner for the National Patriotic Fund Board with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, MajoiF. Waite, D.5.0., M.L.C., will hold the rank of lieutenant-colonel. Advice to this effect ha& been received by the board from the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. The Minister has suggested that Major Waite consult High Commissioner for New Zealand in the United Kingdom, Mr. W. J. Jordan, and MajorFreyberg in England regarding the location of his headquarters and his accommodation. The question of clerical assistance, which it is suggested should be done through Army sources, is also to be arranged in the same manner.
