TYPHOON THREAT.
Heaviest Rains In Philippine Islands Since 1919. CONTINUES FOR SEVEN DAYS. (Received 10 a.m.) MANILA, July 8. A new typhoon off .Samax is threatening the Philippine Islands. This is the seventh day of continuous rains, the heaviest since 1919, and they are flooding the rivers. The damage is estimated at 85,000 pesos. Samar is one of the islands in the Philippine Group. The peso, which is the monetary unit of several Latin American countries, besides these islands, has par value in the Philippines of 2/o}.
