OPENING OP NEW SEASON.
STAKE MONEY TOTALS £1905
A sum of £1905 has been allocated by the committee of the Auckland Trotting Club for its meeting at Epsom on Auguet 31, which will mark the opening of the new trotting season in the North Island Fne principal event will be the August Handicap, a race over a mile and a half, 3.24 limit, for a stake of £500.
The programme is as follows :—lntroductory Handicap (trotters) of £100, one mile and a half, limit 3.4!) ; Mount Eden Handicap of £210, one mile and a quarter, limit 3.5; August Handicap of £500, one mile a halt, limit 3.24 ; tirey Lynn Handicap of £J2o, one mile and a half, limit 3.:;s : Koyal Oak Handicap (trotters) of £245 one mile and a half, limit 3.41; Orakei Handicap of £235, one mile and a quarter. ■ 57; Masse ? Memorial Handicap of i 250, one mile and a half, limit 3.20.
If the number of acceptors warrants the Mount Eden Handicap will be run in two divisions, in which case the stake will be ii( reused to £300. the winner of each division to receive £105, second £30 and third
