TROUBLE OVER RADIO.
AUCKLANDER GIVEN CHANCE. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. A charge of defrauding a radio dealer by soiling a radio set bought under a ■hire purchase agreement, which was brought against John William Hands, ! of Auckland, in the Hamilton Police j Court, was withdrawn when it was discovered that the alleged offence had been committed before the Hire Pur- : chase Agreements Aet came into force last year. Senior-Sergeant G. 11. Lambert said,' that Hands had bought the radio set | and had agreed to pay £:1U 17/(5. When I] still owing £17, he had exchanged the j set for a motor cycle. Hands was quite . prepared to pay oil' the balance of the ! money owing. j On an alternative charge of stealing | the set, Hands was placed on probation ' for two years and ordered to make , restitution of the money still owing. |
