NEW ZEALAND NURSE.
DEATH IN ENGLAND.
The death in Devon, of Nurse Mildred May Hickey, a former resident of Auckland, is reported in private cabled advice. Born at Otane, Hawke'e Bay, and trained in Wellington and Ghristchurch, Nurse Hickey left Leeeton in 1910, with a patient for South Africa, where she was engaged in nursing work for eome time. Reaching England just before the outbreak of ttie Great War, she remained there for the duration, and towards the close accepted a post in charge of a soldiers' convalescent hospital at Brighton. Subsequently, she was nureing in Dublin, when the territory of Eire became a separate entity. She returned to New Zealand about 1920, and for a lengthy period continued private nursing throughout the Dominion, but more particularly in Auckland. During that time, ehe also made a trip back to England, and about three years ago she returned there to live.
Mi se Hickey was one of a large family, and is survived by a brother, Mr. Arthur Hickey, of "Mount Pleasant," (Kane, and a sieter, Mrs. C. G. Watt, of Balmoral Road, Epsom.
