In the Pukekohe Court yesterday Oeorgt Henry Edwards, of Mount Albert who went to Mercer in a motor car without a goods service license and brought -back 2000 ft of timber to Auckland, was fined £4 and costs 12s. "He explained that he had the truck and wanted the timber, eo he went and not it." said Mr. K. C. Davenport, who prosecuted. A Kaiaua carrier, Joshua de Jongb, charged with permitting a driver to work more than 11 hour* consecutively in 24 hours and not |>ermitting him a consecutive break of Iβ hours in 24, was fined £7 10/ and coste £1 12/.
