LOSS OF NIAGARA.
LETTER OF SYMPATHY. Steps tak«n by representatives of the Auckland Harbour Board after the sinking of the Niagara were referred to at I a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday afternoon by the chairman, Mr. R.*T. Reid. He said that representatives of the board met the rescue ship on arrival, and a letter of sympathy had been sent to the CanaI dian-Australasian Line, also a letter of congratulation to the captain on getting his boats launched and saving everybody. The board had done its part in every way.
