SPRIGS AND INJURIES.
AMBULANCE MEN'S PROTEST NOT UPHELD. Ambulance attendants at Otahuhu in the senior match between Grammar and Otal'Uliu last Saturday left the fleld as a protest against the referee refusing to etop the play and examine players' sprigs, which, the attendants contended, were the cause of the injuries. At the meeting of the Rugby Union management committee last evening a letter woe received from the Referees' Association endowing a report from the referee. Dr. L. H. Briggs. He stated that he wae satisfied that not one of the injuries was, caused by sprigs, and that he had examined the boots of the Grammar players after the game. It wae decided to report the matter to the ambulance authorities. ■
