TWO CARS ON FIRE.
Two motor cars caught fire within an hour last night, both being attended by Auckland fire engines. The first outbreak occurred at the corner of Queen and Wyndham Streets, in a car owned by Mr. J. MeGill, of 8, Kohimarama Road. In attempting to subdue the flames, Corporal J. Allen, of Hobsonville air base, received burns on a hand, but with the arrival of the fire brigade the fi/e was extinguished without difficulty. Minor damage was caused by fire in a car on Pa-rnell Rise, Mie vehicle being owned by Mr. V. L. Barber, of 18, Crescent Road, Parnell. This outbreak was also extinguished without difficulty.
