The purchase of the Exhibition Hotel and its contents, at a cost of £24,000, was decided upon l.y the Wellington Hospital Board to-day by ton votes to five. The building is to be used for nurses' accommodation. The board unanimously decided to seek authority to raise £2.54,250 for the erection of a 120-bed hospital, nurses' home and boiler house, etc., at Lower Hutt. The offer of the Fletcher Construction Company, as one donation to the national war effort, to erect the hospital at cost price was accepted with deep appreciation. It. is expected that an arrangement will be made that will enable the institution to be available on March 31 next.
