SHOOTING PROSPECTS.

Although the weather will be a deciding factor, present prospacts for the shooting season in the Auckland Province are bright. The season for most classes of birds will open on Saturday. In the Auckland, Bay of Islands, Hobson, Rotorua, Tauranga and Whangarei acclimatisation districts, the season for cock pheasants, Californian and Australian quail will extend from May 4 to June 30 inclusive. For grey, mallard and spoonbill duck and black swan and pukeko, it will be from May 4 to May IS inclusive. Limit bags will be: Ducks 15, swans 15, pukekos 8, pheasants 9, with no limit] placed on quail.. .; ; .- J
