Colonel X. S. Falla was a passenger from Wellington by train this morning.

Dr. C. E. Beeby, Director of Education, arrived by train from Wellington this morning.

Messrs. A. S. Richards and C. RPetrie, M.P.'s, will leave for Wellington by the Limited express to-night.

Sir Harry Batterbee. High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. He is expected to return to Wellington to-morrow.

Mr. W. D. Carson, Brunswick, near Wanganui, district representative of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, has been appointed judge of the agricultural exhibits at the Hamilton Centennial Show in July.

Mr. Toyokichi Fukuma has arrived in Wellington to take up his position as Consul-General for Japan in New Zealand, in succession to Mr. K. Gunji, who has been transferred to Honolulu. Mr. Fukuma was formerly Consul-General for Japan at Buenos Ayres.

Mr. A. B. Farquhar has arrived in Auckland en route to Australia, where he will take over the management of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company's Victoria mill. Herbert River, Xorth Queensland. He was formerly manager for the company at Lautoka, Fiji.

Mr. W. C. Prime, employers' representative on the Court of Arbitration, is expected to resume his duties in about a fortnight's time. Mr. W. E. Ancbrson, temporary representative on J'le Court, arrived in Wellington to-day after spending the week-end in Auckland.

The Hon. H. C. Monckton. of Suva, a member of the Legislative and Executive Council of Fiji and adviser on natire affaire to the Government, has arrived in Auckland, accompanied by Mrs. Monckton, on final leave prior to retiring. They expert to spend ahout a month in Auckland befors proceeding to Sydney.
