PRESENTATION.
MANUREWA OFFICER. On the occasion of his retirement from the Post and Telegraph Department after 40 years' service, Mr. G. J. Nicholas, postmaster at Manurcwa, was the recipient of a presentation in the Manurewa Council Chambers last evening. The Mayor, Mr. W. J. Ferguson, on behalf of the citizens, made the presentation of a set of bowls and expressed regret at losing such a valuable man as Mr. Nicholas, who always had the interests of the district at heart. Mr. F. Barnard and Mr. .las. Murray, on behalf of the business people, endorsed the Mayor's remarks and said it was with great regret the business community learnt of Mr. Nicholas' retirement. Mr. L. Ayling spoke oil behalf of the Athletic Club. Mr. Nicholas suitably replied.
