There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Xorthcote Returned Soldiers' Association. The president, Mr. A. V. Tj-er, presided. The annual report stated the activities of the association had been very successful, while the balance-sheet showed that the receipts had totalled £369 and the expenditure had been £276. Appreciation waa recorded of the work of the retiring secretary, Mr. E. J. Norris. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. M. J. Walsh; vice-patron, Miss E. M. Xutsey; president. Mr. A. V. Bethwaite, J. Andrews; librarian. Mr. G. lluniberston; social organiser, Mr. J. Leonard; bowls committee, Messrs. A. C. Wells, C. Duke, W. Rackett, T. Howland; honorary chaplains, Rev. F. C. Truman, Rev. H. H. Jeffreys, Rev. S. L. Boot; auditor, Mr. R. G. Hunt. The association have made arrangements for an Anzac Day ceremony to be held at the Xorthcote War Memorial. At tho conclusion of the meeting a graphic description of the River Plate naval battle was si von bv Sergeant Clavton, R.M., of H.M.S. Achilles.
