Mr. C. K. Grierson arrived from Wellington by train this morning. Mr. R. J. Kerridge was a passenger by train from Wellington this morning. The Rt. Rev. W. A. R- Fitchett. Bishop of Dunedin. left Auckland by air this morning for Dunedin. Mr. K. L. Usmar arrived in Hamilton this morning after atending a conference of the recruiting council in Wellington. Mr. G. Grey Campbell arrived by train this morning from Palmerston North, where he represented the Auckland University College at a meeting of the board of governors of the Massey Agricultural College. Mr. F. J. Perham, -who has been senior ranger of the State Forest Service in Southland, k. to be conservator for Canterbury, and Mr. J. F. Field, conservator of forests at Xelson, will take up a 1 similar post in Southland. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coaxes arrived from Wellington by train this morning. Mr. Stan Hodges, who has for four years been engaged in YJILCA. work in construction camps, has arrived in Auckland from Paritu to take over the Y.M.C.A. Institute at the Hobsonville air base.

Major H. £. Suckling has been appointed assistant-Director of Dental Sen ices {Army and Air Force), Wellington, while Captain (temporary Major) L. P. Davies relinquishes the position of deputy-Director of Dental Services. Army headquarters, stated last night's Gazette.

Mr. E. L. Robinson, assistant engineer to the Southland County Council, has !»eeii appointed engineer to the Tauranjra County Council in succession to Mr. AH. Bcnham, who has resigned. Mr. TJobinson. whose age is 35. tras born in Dunedin, and prior to going to Southland was engineer to the Horowhenua Count v Council.
