FIJI'S RAINFALL.

GOOD SEASON PREDICTED.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, April 9. The rainfall for the month of March was 17.04 in, as against an average for March of 14.09 in over the past 50 years. Eain fell on 30 days, and the wettest day was on the 10th, when 2.51 in of rain fell.

This steady rain (which is still continuing) is very welcome throughout the colony, where plantation owners and growers generally suffered a setback by the long, dry spell in January and February, when the first rice crop plantings died. Prospects are now better for a good season.
