RESIGNATION RECEIVED.
"REPLY IN DUE COURSE."
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The iesignation of the Hon. W. E. Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives and member for Napier, from the New Zealand Labour party was received this evening by the Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser. Mr. Barnard's letter reached Mr. Fraser at (i.5 o'clock, just before the conclusion of a meeting of the Cabinet. Mr. Fraser subsequently stated that the letter would receive his consideration and he would forward a reply to Mr. Barnard in due course.
