MATERNITY HOSPITAL.
NEW IYNN PROPOSAL.
In accordance with notice of motion, Dr. J. P. Hastings moved that the board should establish, without delay, a maternity hospital at New Lynn, to meet the requirements of the Henderson, New Lynn and Glen Eden districts.
Dr. Hastings said that the position could not be adequately met by the appointment of a district nurse.
The chairman, Mr. Allan .T. Moody, said -that if a private hospital were established, the board would generously subsidise it.
Mr. W. A. Bishop suggested that Henderson would be tihe better centre.
The motion was defeated, and it was decided to appoint a staff nurse to the permanent staff as a city district nurse.
