RUGBY VICTORY.
N.Z. CONTINGENT. ALDERSHOT COMMAND BEATEN CUTBUSH OUTSTANDING PLAYER. (Received noon.) LOXDOX, April 7. There was .1 characteristic All Blacks' background when the Xew Zealand contingent played the Aldershot Command. The match began after the famous warcry. Mr. Jordan, High Commissioner, was present. Many members of the Xew Zealand Contingent were bunched among the spectators and they kept up a refreshing and frank running commentary. The whole side played hard, keen football, reminiscent of the grand All Blacks' play seen here in the past. The outstanding players were Coombe, Cutbush and Francis. A penalty goal for the Command XV. came lo minutes after the start. The Xcw Zealanders within two minutes responded and took the lead, which the Command regained, then again lost, the half-time score being: Xew Zealand, 10; Command, 8. The second half was less interesting, though Cutbush frequently showed himself a fine player. The only further score came towards the end. when Coombe kicked a penalty goal, making the final tallies:—Xew Zealand, 13; Aldershot Command, 8.
