BLIND MAN KILLED.
WALKED IN FRONT OF TRAM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. Fatal injuries were suffered by William Ashby, single, aged 70, of Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch, when he was struck by a tram on Saturday. According to a police statement, Ashby, who was almost blind, walked ill front of a tram while crossing the road. He died in hospital on Saturday morning. An inquest was opened and adjourned.
