BIG DROP.
UNEMPLOYMENT IN BRITAIN. British OffiH.il Wireless. RUGBY, April 4. The Ministry of Labour announces that there was a very substantial improvement in the employment figures between February 12 and- March 11, when the number of unemployed persons on registers at the employment exchange* in Britain fell by 382.887. Compared with March, 1939, this was a reduction of 605.716. A large part of the increased employment was dne to the improvement in the weather conditions, but, in addition, there was a general increase in industrial activity from other causes. Between the same dates there was a fall in the numbers of unemployed in practically every industry.
