OBITUARY.
MR. JOSEPH DOUGLAS.
The death is reported of Mr. Joseph Douglas, aged 54, a member of the Railway Department staff at Ofrorohanga, Mr. Douglas joined the Department 37 years ago and had been at Otorohanga for the past 14 yeare. He is survived by his wife and one daughter.
MRS. ELIZA BEW.
Mrs. Eliza Bew, of Tatuanui. ha? died at the age of ninety. Mrs. Be-w arrived with her husband from England in IS7.">. and. apart from the last 14 years, which have been spent with a daughter at Tatuanui, ehe had practically all of her time in the Te Aroha district. Mr*. Bew had the unusual experience of living with three daughters in a hole dug in the side of a bank for a short time when her husband, the late Mr. John Bew. was engaged in the construction of the main south railway line.
MR. MARTIN ANSO.
The. death has occurred at Otorohanga of Mr. Martin Anso, aged 70. a prominent member of the Otorohanga branch of the Farmens' Union. Mr. Anso hail made his farm ?t Puketarata a mode* one, having established a fine dairying property, with a vineyard and an apiary as sidelines, from what was forinerlv valueJres country. He is survived by his wife, four eons and two daughter?.
