PERMITS NECESSARY.
COLD STORAGE OF FRUIT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Government has placed restrictions on the cold storage of fruit, according to a notice appearing in the "Gazette" to-night. Under the primary industries emergency regulations, Mr. A. H. Cockayne, primary industries controller, prohibits the deposit, otherwise than by or on behalf of the Marketing Department, of any fruit in cool store except in pursuance of a permit granted by the food controller, Mr. F. K. Picot, who may grant applications for permits a* he thinks fit.
